Automatic Gate Openers
Open the gate without getting out of the truck.
An automatic gate only works as well as the gate it is mounted to. Operators get blamed for problems that start with a frame that is too light, a post that has moved, or a hinge that binds. We install and service automatic gate openers on ranch entrances and driveways, and we size the operator to the actual gate and check the frame and posts before mounting anything.
Sizing the operator to the gate
Operator capacity is rated by gate weight, length, and how often it cycles. A light residential operator on a heavy steel entrance gate will fail early, and a heavy operator on a light gate is money wasted. We weigh and measure the gate, look at the hinge condition and the grade it swings on, and specify from there.
Power, safety, and code
Power availability decides a lot: solar for a gate a quarter mile off the road, or line power brought to the entrance. Safety devices matter as much as the operator: photo eyes, safety loops, and proper obstruction sensing are what stop a gate on a vehicle or a person. Installation follows the manufacturer's requirements and applicable safety standards.
Access control and entry
Keypads, remotes, vehicle transmitters, and intercom or app-based entry are all coordinated as part of the install. The point is that you, your family, and your deliveries can get in without the gate becoming a daily frustration. We set up codes and hand over how the system works rather than leaving you to figure it out.
Service and repair
Gates get out of adjustment, boards fail, and batteries in solar setups need replacing. We service the systems we install and will look at existing installs to tell you whether the problem is the operator, the gate, or the posts it hangs on.
Automatic Gate Openers we have built.
Common questions about automatic gate openers.
Can you automate an existing gate?
Often yes, if the frame, hinges, and posts can carry an operator and swing freely. We check the gate first, because automating a binding gate just wears the operator out.
Do you install solar gate openers?
Yes. Solar is common on ranch entrances where running power to the gate is impractical, and the panel and battery sizing depends on how often the gate cycles.
What safety devices are required on an automatic gate?
Automatic gates need obstruction sensing and typically photo eyes, and vehicle loops where traffic crosses the gate path. Requirements come from the operator manufacturer and applicable safety standards, and we install to them.
Do you service gate operators you did not install?
Yes. We will look at an existing system and tell you whether the fault is the operator, the gate frame, or the posts.
